The Lake States Mud Racing Association provides great racing action in five divisions: Street Stock, Super Stock, Modified I, Modified II and Women's.
Race President Jim Kretzschmar puts on a very well run show. Jim has been racing and promoting for over 20 years and does the job right. Races run quickly and smoothly but never lack excitement.
Mud Racing is all out drag racing in the dirt. If you're a fan of racing and have never seen mud drags or you think it will be boring, we encourage you to check it out. With 4 second runs through a 200 foot long pit filled with 16 inches of mud, we're sure you'll be amazed.
Racing events cover two states, Michigan and Wisconsin. The 2010 schedule includes a first time race event in Sanborn WI, racing in Bessemer MI as part of the 4th of July celebration, the Second Annual event in Butternut WI, the Saxon WI race as part of the Iron County Fair, racing in Ironwood MI during the Gogebic County Fair, the 20th Annual event in Glidden WI, and the 'packed stands' season finale in Marengo WI in conjunction with the Ashland County Fair.
Competition was fierce in 2009 with points races being decided by one point.
Our 2010 season promises to be just as exciting, so bring the whole family, watch the mud fly, hear the engines roar and cheer on the finest Mud Racers in Upper Michigan and Northern Wisconsin.
